✈️ How to Reach Socotra Island
Getting to Socotra requires a bit of planning, but the journey is well worth it. Here are the most reliable travel routes:
✅ Option 1: Via Abu Dhabi, UAE (Most Popular & Reliable)
Weekly Direct Charter Flights Operated by Air Arabia
Route: Abu Dhabi (AUH) ➡️ Socotra (SCT)
Flight Duration: ~2.5 hours
Schedule: Seasonal flights from October to May, usually on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays
How to Book: Tickets are not sold online. You must book through a licensed local travel agency (such as Socotra Experience), which arranges the full package—flights, visa, permits, accommodation, transportation, and guiding services.

🌍 Option 2: Via Cairo or Jeddah ➡️ Aden ➡️ Socotra
Yemenia Airways flights operate from:
• Cairo, Egypt
• Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Connecting through Aden, Yemen, then onward to Socotra
Important: These routes are less frequent and subject to change. They require:
• A Yemeni visa

📶 Internet & Mobile
nternet access in Socotra has improved in recent years. Some camps and key locations now offer Starlink satellite internet, providing a more stable connection. You can also use an Etisalat SIM card (purchased in Abu Dhabi) for limited coverage in towns.
Our guides may provide hotspot access when available. However, we encourage travelers to enjoy a digital detox and embrace Socotra’s majestic landscapes and culture without distractions.

🧢 What to Wear
Socotrans are friendly and used to visitors. Modest clothing is appreciated, especially in remote areas. Women are advised to cover shoulders and knees with loose-fitting clothing.
Headscarves are not required but can be worn respectfully.
